About Us
Evangelizare pauperibus misit me (Good news to the poor) is the motto of the Vincentian Institutions. National Service Scheme (NSS) is a noble academic extension programme envisioned at national level, with a view to bring academic institutions closer to pulses and needs of the society. NSS moulds the students to a responsible person and personality who will contribute to the needs of the nation and society in future. The basic concept of National Service Scheme is to give an extended dimension to the Higher Education system and orient the students to community service while they are studying in an educational institution. NSS creates a social consciousness among students, by establishing a meaningful linkage between the campus and the community, especially the rural, marginalised and abandoned community who is in need of service. The objective of the programme is that it is organised by the students themselves and both students and teachers through their combined participation in social service, get a sense of involvement in the task of nation building. NSS unit of De Paul College plays a pivotal role in the Muzhakunnu panchayat and peravoor Taluk in the ventures taken by government agencies.
